Patriots, Rams, Bears Not Interested In Leonard Fournette
4 years agoThe New England Patriots are not expected to pursue free-agent running back Leonard Fournette, according to a source within the organization. No team was willing to take on the $4 million on his contract, so Fournette passed through waivers unclaimed. Patriots running back Sony Michel has been injured, so second-year back Damien Harris has seen most of the backfield workload in training camp. Fournette hasn't been dynamic in the passing game, and the Pats also have James White, Rex Burkhead and Lamar Miller on the roster. Along with New England, the Rams are saying they have no interest in the former Jaguars running back. The Bears are also passing on Fournette. The 25-year-old is probably worth a late-round flier right now in hopes that he lands in a favorable situation, but don't expect much with the regular season right around the corner.
