3 years agoThe Carolina Panthers are expected to be involved in trade talk for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson before the November deadline, according to league and team sources. Panthers starter Sam Darnold was benched in favor of P.J. Walker in the fourth quarter of the Week 7 loss to the New York Giants after he went 16-for-25 for 111 yards, no touchdowns and an interception. Darnold got off to a good start in his first year in Carolina, but he's looked more like the QB he was with the New York Jets in recent weeks. With Watson available despite his ongoing legal issues, the Panthers are rethinking their Darnold investment. Watson is not on the commissioner's exempt list, but it remains to be seen if he'll be allowed to play in 2021 if he's traded by the Texans.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
