It doesn't take too much digging through various data resources to figure out that Bryson DeChambeau has not performed well in his seven previous appearances in the Open Championship, aside from a T8 in 2022. The putting and approach play haven't been there, and unfortunately, the putting has taken a downturn over the last several weeks on LIV despite the dominance of his Crushers team. Wind and rain are slated to be factors, making the former SMU product a scary way to lean. If there is one major that hasn't been stamped with the 31-year-old's mark in recent memory, it's certainly this one, and another missed cut seems more probable than vying for the Claret Jug come Sunday.

Adolis Garcia has been asked about in trade conversations by "several teams," according to Francys Romero. The 32-year-old Garcia is under team control through 2026, so he'd be more than just a trade deadline rental for a contending team. In 373 plate appearances this season, Garcia is slashing .232/.279/.404 with 13 home runs, 56 RBI, 34 runs, and nine stolen bases. However, his 24.7% strikeout rate is the best of his career, and both his .253 xBA and .479 xSLG point to possible second-half improvement. Garcia is still a decent power/speed option in fantasy, and a move to a stronger offense at the trade deadline could help his counting stats, particularly runs scored.

With all the hoopla surrounding the upcoming Ryder Cup and whether current U.S. Captain Keegan Bradley will need to bring his sticks to Bethpage as well, this week in Northern Ireland is big. It's the year's final major and the last chance to really vault up the standings with a good week. Golf across the pond hasn't been very bright for the 39-year-old, who has missed the last five cuts in this championship, beginning here in 2019. The approach play is a point of emphasis for Bradley in the often more brutal conditions here than at home, especially the wind. He's also struggled on the greens, averaging -0.94 strokes gained on the greens in the last three Opens. The previous 18 months have been much more successful and have the former St. John's golfer on the tip of everyone's tongue. American pride suggests rooting for Bradley, but the DFS strategy is to have tempered expectations.

The Minnesota Twins have had no conversations about trading star pitcher
Joe Ryan, according to Robert Murray of FanSided. Minnesota is 47-49, 11 1/2 games behind the Detroit Tigers in the AL Central and four games behind the Seattle Mariners for the final American League Wild Card spot. However, Ryan is under team control through the 2027 season, so there's no pressure on the Twins to make a move now. The 29-year-old is having his best year so far in 2025. In 109 1/3 innings (18 starts), Ryan is 9-4 with a 2.72 ERA, 0.91 WHIP, and 121 strikeouts. His 22.9% K-BB rate is excellent, and opposing batters are hitting just .195 against him. Whether he remains in Minnesota or eventually gets moved, Ryan profiles as a high-level fantasy option.

Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough is "optimistic" that starting pitcher
Edward Cabrera (elbow) will be back in the rotation after the All-Star break, according to Mike Cugno of CBS Miami. The 27-year-old right-hander left his final start before the break on July 11 against the Baltimore Orioles after four innings due to elbow discomfort, but imaging on the elbow came back clean. Cabrera has had a solid season to this point, posting a 3-4 record with a 3.61 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 86 strikeouts in 82 1/3 innings (16 starts). Walks have historically been an issue for Cabrera, but he's logged a manageable 8.6% BB rate so far. He's been talked about as a potential trade deadline target for contending teams, so he could find himself in a more favorable situation for wins down the stretch of the season.

Kel'el Ware was a major two-way force in Monday's 100-96 victory against the Boston Celtics in the Las Vegas Summer League, finishing with 21 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block in 33 minutes. He shot 8-for-15 from the field and an impressive 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Ware is getting a lot of burn in the Summer League, having already made five appearances across tournaments in San Francisco and Las Vegas. Last week, Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra called out Ware for lacking "professionalism," and the 21-year-old has responded strongly, averaging 21.0 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 2.0 blocks over the last two games.

Kon Knueppel produced a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double in Monday's 87-69 Summer League win over the Dallas Mavericks. Knueppel had a rough debut in Las Vegas against the Utah Jazz on Friday, shooting 1-for-8 from he field, but he felt much more comfortable in Monday's game. The fourth pick of this year's draft finished 5-for-10 from the floor, including 3-for-5 from three-point range. Across 26 minutes of action, Knueppel also bagged four assists, one steal, and one block. Charlotte's roster is looking weak ahead of the new campaign, which will give Knueppel a chance to get significant playing time. However, as an inexperienced player, he's likely to face consistency issues.

Matas Buzelis led the way with 28 points on 8-for-14 shooting in Monday's 114-105 victory in the Summer League against the Indiana Pacers. He was the leading scorer in the game, finishing 2-for-4 from outside and 10-for-13 at the line. In 32 minutes on the floor, Buzelis also collected five rebounds and had one steal with one block. The 20-year-old has enjoyed a fine opening to the Summer League, averaging 22.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks. Reed Sheppard will sit out the rest of the summer action. According to The Athletic's Kelly Iko, the Rockets have decided to shut down Sheppard for the remainder of the Summer League. Sheppard made two appearances in Las Vegas, averaging 23.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 steals. The Kentucky product also played well in the Summer League a year ago, but his role with the team was limited during his rookie campaign. Paul George underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday to treat an injury sustained during a recent workout, the team announced. George hurt his left knee and will be re-evaluated before the start of training camp. Last season, George played only 41 games due to various health issues, and his 2025-26 season has now suffered an early setback as well. However, it appears he could recover in time for the start of the regular season. George is entering the second year of a four-year, $212 million contract. Cal Raleigh continued his elite power surge on Monday, taking home the trophy in the T-Mobile Home Run Derby in Atlanta. Andrew Painter allowed three earned runs on six hits, including two home runs, but did not walk a batter and struck out four in five innings for Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday. The Phils' top prospect (MLB No. 9) began the year with a 3.18 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, a 20.5 percent K-BB%, and a 0.95 HR/9 through his first eight starts (28 1/3 IP), but over his last eight starts (38 2/3 IP), the righty has posted a 6.05 ERA, 1.53 WHIP, a 15.2 percent K-BB%, and a 2.33 HR/9. Hopefully he's just working on some things, and these are the growing pains of life in Triple-A, as the 6-foot-7 hurler was expected to make his major league debut this season. That still might happen for the former first-rounder, and if he lives up to expectations, then he should remain a stash candidate for those in need of pitching help in deep and NL-only leagues.

Ryan Ward earned Pacific Coast League Player of the Week honors for the week of July 7-13. The 27-year-old went 9-for-21 (.429) with four doubles, a triple, and one home run, along with six RBI, four runs scored, and a 6:3 BB:K in six games for Triple-A Oklahoma City. The left-handed slugger is up to a .309/.399/.597 slash line for the season, and his 108 hits, 24 home runs, and 82 RBI lead all minor leaguers. He's always had big power, but through 261 games at Triple-A prior to this year, he registered a 26.1 percent strikeout rate. However, this season he has cut that down to a better-than-average 20.0 percent, complemented by a strong 13.1 percent walk rate. If he gets the call to the majors, the power potential and offensive environment could make him an intriguing waiver add in very deep and NL-only leagues.

San Francisco Giants first base prospect
Bryce Eldridge (hamstring) was sent on a minor league rehab assignment on Monday with the team's Arizona Complex League affiliate. The Giants' top-ranked prospect suffered a moderate right hamstring strain and hasn't played in a game since June 21. The 6-foot-7 slugger began the year at Double-A and hit .280 with seven home runs and a .350 OBP, which was enough to earn a promotion to Triple-A. In 16 games at Sacramento, the former first-round draft pick has gone deep three times, but is hitting just .230 with a 31.3 percent strikeout rate and a below-average 7.5 percent walk rate. If he can get on a roll when he returns, a September call-up could be in the cards, otherwise, look for the JMU product to make his MLB debut next year.
