Michael Pittman Jr. Leaves Practice With Injury on Thursday
Michael Pittman Jr. (undisclosed) got tangled up while running a route during OTA practice on Thursday and went down, according to The Athletic's James Boyd. Pittman got up, limped off the field and didn't return to practice. It's unclear how serious Pittman's injury is right now, but we should know more before the team begins mandatory minicamp next week. It's worth noting that the 27-year-old played through a small fracture in his back for much of last year, though. The Colts' bad quarterback situation didn't help Pittman's cause, and he finished with a disappointing 69-808-3 line in 16 games played. Pittman's best bet for a resurgence in 2025 will be with better health and probably with Daniel Jones winning the QB competition. The addition of rookie tight end Tyler Warren won't help Pittman's volume concerns.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver DJ Giddens Could Be Regular Contributor for Colts
DJ Giddens will likely have the opportunity to win the RB2 job, and he could earn a weekly role on offense if he proves capable in the pass-blocking and pass-catching game, according to team reporter Jake Arthur. "Giddens may carve out some sort of role regardless of what's going on ahead of him with Jonathan Taylor and/or Khalil Herbert," Arthur wrote. "The Colts really like Giddens." The Kansas State product was the No. 151 overall pick (fifth-round) in the 2025 NFL Draft after posting 2,469 rushing yards, 581 receiving yards, and 21 total touchdowns over his final two collegiate seasons. He'll be competing with Herbert and Tyler Goodson to earn a spot behind Jonathan Taylor. For now, he's a late-round handcuff stash in deeper fantasy football leagues, but he's worth monitoring early in his first professional campaign.Source: Jake Arthur

Anthony Richardson, Daniel Jones Splitting Reps at OTAs
Anthony Richardson (back) and Daniel Jones are splitting repetitions during organized team activities this week, according to The Athletic's James Boyd. Richardson missed the last two games of the 2024 season due to a back injury, but he's fully recovered now and is in a full-on competition for the starting gig under center in 2025 with Jones. The splitting of reps between Richardson and Jones is expected to continue into training camp this summer. The 23-year-old Richardson, the former fourth overall pick in 2023 out of Florida, was a massive disappointment in his sophomore season. He made only 11 starts due to injury while also being benched in favor of Joe Flacco. There's no question that Richardson has elite rushing upside, but he'll need to improve as a passer to beat Jones out and serve as a QB2 with upside in fantasy this year.Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts quarterbacks Josh Downs Misses Practice With Soft-Tissue Injury
Josh Downs (undisclosed) and tight end Drew Ogletree (undisclosed) both miss Wednesday's voluntary practice with soft-tissue injuries. Downs has had his share of injuries already through two NFL seasons, so although it's early in the offseason, his health is worth watching closely the closer we get to training camp and the preseason. The 23-year-old former third-rounder (79th overall) in 2023 out of North Carolina took a small step forward in 2024 with a 72-803-5 line on 107 targets over 14 games (eight starts). A lot of his production last year came with veteran quarterback Joe Flacco under center, and his 5-foot-9, 171-pound frame limits his overall upside. Downs' 2025 fantasy value will likely hinge on who wins the Colts' QB competition between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones.Source: indian
Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Colts Owner Jim Irsay Passes Away
Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov
Indianapolis Colts owner and CEO Jim Irsay passed away at the age of 65 on Wednesday, according to The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov. Irsay had led the Colts since 1997 and is survived by his daughters Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt and Kalen Jackson, his ex-wife and his daughters' mother, Meg Coyle, and 10 grandchildren. Irsay-Gordon, his eldest daughter, is the move involved in team operations and took her father's place during his NFL suspension in 2014 after his DWI arrest. Irsay was hospitalized in December of 2023 when first responders found him unresponsive in his bedroom, with police characterizing the incident as a suspected overdose. He was then not seen publicly for weeks, with the Colts saying he was being treated for a "severe respiratory illness." Irsay was one of the NFL's most influential owners and led Indy to two Super Bowl titles, with them winning Super Bowl XLI.Matt Goncalves Expected to Start at Right Guard
Source: The Athletic - James Boyd
Indianapolis Colts offensive line coach Tony Sparano Jr. said that the plan is for offensive lineman Matt Goncalves to start at right guard in 2025. Goncalves has recovered from the concussion that he suffered in the Week 18 regular-season finale late last season and should open his second year in the NFL as a starter on Indianapolis' offensive line. The 24-year-old was selected by the Colts in the third round (79th overall) last year out of Pittsburgh, and he started eight of the 17 games that he appeared in over his rookie campaign. Not only will he be starting at right guard in 2025, but he'll be making the transition from tackle to guard.Eric Johnson II Claimed By Indianapolis
Source: Indianapolis Colts
On Thursday, the Indianapolis Colts claimed defensive tackle Eric Johnson II off waivers after the New England Patriots recently released him. The Colts also waived safety Marcel Dabo and designated tight end Maximilian Mang as an exempt/international player. Johnson will enter his fourth season in the league and serve his second stint with the Colts after they selected him in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. The Missouri State product appeared in 11 games for the Patriots in 2024, notching 17 tackles (two solo). He's a fine rotational piece on the defensive line, but doesn't project to make too much of an impact on the field or in fantasy. Johnson hasn't garnered a single start through 39 career games and is currently buried way down on the team's unofficial depth chart.Blayne Taylor Signs With Indianapolis
Blayne Taylor, among 13 other undrafted free agents, on Friday. Taylor appeared in 51 games over three years at Abilene Christian and one at Cisco College, but did his best work in his final season as a Wildcat. In 2024, the Texas native garnered Second Team All-UAC honors with 73 receptions, 1,117 yards, and eight touchdowns. He's a big, explosive, wideout who tested well at his pro day and would be an exciting NFL talent if he could put it all together at the next level. However, Taylor still has some holes in his game and requires polish. The 6-foot-3 wideout's athleticism alone gives him a shot in the NFL. We'll see if he can do enough to make the team's roster over the next few months.Source: Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts have signed rookie wide receiver Colts Sign Tyler Warren To Four-Year Rookie Deal
Tyler Warren to a four-year, fully-guaranteed $20.9 million contract on Friday that includes an $11.88 million signing bonus, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The Colts also signed six other draft picks, including cornerback Justin Walley, tackle Jalen Travis, running back DJ Giddens, quarterback Riley Leonard, defensive tackle Tim Smith and safety Hunter Wohler. The Colts took Warren with the 14th overall pick in this year's draft out of Penn State, and they're hoping he can be the standout pass-catching TE they've been searching for for quite a while. He has a huge frame at 6-foot-5, 256 pounds and has plenty of after-the-catch ability, but fantasy managers should probably pump the brakes on Warren being the next Sam LaPorta or Brock Bowers in his rookie season given the uncertainty at the QB position in Indy.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
The Indianapolis Colts signed rookie first-round tight end Colts Sign Joe Bachie
The Indianapolis Colts signed free-agent linebacker Joe Bachie to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, according to the Indianapolis Star's Joel A. Erickson. Bachie will provide linebacking depth for the Colts and knows new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo's defensive style well after playing for him the last four seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. In addition to providing linebacker depth, the 27-year-old could be a key asset on special teams. The Colts are very thin at linebacker after seeing E.J. Speed and Grant Stuard leave in free agency. Bachie, a former undrafted free agent out of Michigan State, was more of a special teams player in Cincy, playing 818 snaps on special teams and only 222 snaps on defense over his 47 games with the Bengals. He ended last year on Injured Reserve with a groin injury but should be good to go for the start of the 2025 campaign this fall.Samson Ebukam Expects To Take Part In Training Camp
Source: Nate Atkins
Indianapolis Colts defensive end Samson Ebukam (Achilles), who suffered a torn Achilles last offseason, expects to be cleared in time to participate in training camp. The former fourth-round pick out of Eastern Washington by the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 joined the Colts in 2023 and led the team in sacks (9.5) right away. However, his major lower-body injury cost him the entire 2024 campaign. On the bright side, he will have nearly a full year to cover before getting back to action. The Colts ranked 25th in total sacks (36) a season ago, so his return to health could be a nice boost for new defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo. He could also help take pressure off young pass rushers Kwity Paye and Laiatu Latu. Ebukam has tallied 281 tackles (176 solo), 33 sacks, 11 forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, one interception, and nine pass deflections across 113 career games.Spencer Shrader The Favorite To Win Colts Kicking Job
Spencer Shrader is the favorite to win the team's starting placekicking duties for 2025. Last season, Shrader kicked for the Colts in Week 1 due to an injury to Matt Gay. The Colts released Gay this offseason and brought Shrader back. He will compete with undrafted free-agent kicker Maddux Trujillo out of Temple, but it is "his job to lose." Shrader went undrafted last offseason out of Notre Dame and kicked in one game for the Colts, one game for the New York Jets, and two games for the Kansas City Chiefs. Overall, he made all five of his field goal attempts and was a perfect nine-for-nine on extra point tries. Gay attempted the seventh-most field goals last season for Indy, so Shrader could find his way on the fantasy football radar in 2025.Source: James Boyd -- The Athletic
According to James Boyd of The Athletic, DJ Giddens To Be Colts Pass-Catching Back?
DJ Giddens in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and James Boyd of The Athletic believes he is poised to beat out Tyler Goodson as the team's top pass-catching back. The team added Khalil Herbert this offseason to replace Trey Sermon, but Giddens profiles as more of a receiver after snagging 50 receptions over his final two collegiate seasons. That said, Indianapolis ranked 30th in total running back targets a season ago (65), so Giddens is unlikely to have standalone upside as a backup to Jonathan Taylor. Instead, he'll be more of an interesting handcuff back that could have flex value in the case of a Taylor injury. Giddens was a fifth-rounder, though, so it's too early to assume he'll have any role in Indy's offense.Source: James Boyd -- The Athletic
The Indianapolis Colts added former Kansas State running back Riley Leonard Drafted By Colts Saturday
Riley Leonard with the 189th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. A Duke transfer, Leonard racked up 2,861 passing yards, 21 passing touchdowns, and eight interceptions during his one and only season with the Fighting Irish. He also rushed for 906 yards and another 17 touchdowns on the ground. Leonard is capable of making big, accurate throws down the field, but he can also keep defenses guessing with his ability to roll out of the pocket and make plays. He joins a Colts quarterback room that features two other mobile quarterbacks, Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Leonard likely won't earn playing time in Week 1, but with glaring quarterback questions in Indianapolis, he could push for an opportunity to earn snaps down the stretch.Source: NFL
