Calgary Flames center Morgan Frost is re-upping with the team on a two-year, $8.75 million contract. He became a restricted free agent on July 1 after completing a two-year, $4.2 million deal. Frost joined the Flames in January when the Philadelphia Flyers traded him and Joel Farabee in a deal involving Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier. After registering back-to-back 40-point campaigns, he put up 37 points (14 goals, 23 assists) in 81 appearances. Frost is likely to stay around the 40-point range in 2025-26 as a middle-six forward for Calgary.

Winger Gustav Nyquist has agreed to a one-year, $3.25 million deal with the Winnipeg Jets. The Swedish veteran will remain in the Western Conference after suiting up for the Nashville Predators and Minnesota Wild during the 2024-25 campaign. Nyquist had a tough season, finishing with 11 goals and 28 points in 79 appearances. However, he registered a career-high 75 points just a year ago, and Nyquist could turn out to be a steal for the Jets if he can get anywhere close to the same performance level next season. The 35-year-old might get a spot in the top six to replace Nikolaj Ehlers, who is still an unrestricted free agent.

Mantha could earn a further $2 million through bonuses. Mantha is a four-time 20-goal scorer who can make a significant impact if he's healthy. New York Islanders left wing Emil Heineman has signed a two-year, $2.2 million contract with the team. The Islanders acquired the restricted free agent from the Montreal Canadiens last week and now have him under contract for at least a couple of seasons.
