Los Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (tooth) is back in the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Rengifo was absent from the starting lineup on Tuesday after getting a root canal. It's worth noting that he came off the bench as a pinch-hitter late in the game. He'll be back at third base and batting seventh against left-hander Andrew Heaney on Wednesday. Rengifo is off to a sluggish start, but remains worth holding in deep leagues and AL-only formats. He has shown he has the ability to be a solid contributor, so hopefully he gets back on track soon.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Tampa Bay Rays outfielder Chandler Simpson is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Arizona Diamondbacks. The rookie outfielder will take a seat against southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez on Wednesday. Since being recalled, Simpson is hitting .333 with one RBI and two stolen bases in three games. He's worth an add in deep leagues and AL-only formats due to his ridiculous speed. On Wednesday, Yandy Diaz will take over the leadoff spot while Kameron Misner is in center field and bats seventh against Rodriguez. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups and pull out Simpson before first pitch.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Texas Rangers outfielder Joc Pederson (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Athletics. Unsurprisingly, Pederson will get the night off against a left-handed starting pitcher as he has historically struggled against southpaws. His absence will mean Jonah Heim takes over as the designated hitter while Kyle Higashioka will be behind the plate against left-hander JP Sears. Fantasy managers should adjust their lineups ahead of first pitch.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Texas Rangers outfielder Leody Taveras (rest) is out of the starting lineup ahead of Wednesday's game against the Athletics. Taveras has been off to a slow start this season as he's slashing .197/.210/.246 with six RBI heading into Wednesday's game. That being said, the Rangers have decided to give Taveras the night off against left-hander JP Sears. During his career, Taveras has struggled against left-handed pitching, so this seems like a good time to give him a rest game. In his absence, Kevin Pillar will take over in center field and bat leadoff against Sears. Pillar is hitting over .300 in his 23 plate appearances with the Rangers this season. He could offer some deep league appeal in the leadoff spot on Wednesday.--Andy Webb - RotoBallerSource: mlb.com

Tampa Bay Rays first baseman/designated hitter Jonathan Aranda will take a seat on Wednesday against the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks with left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez getting the nod on the bump. With the left-handed-hitting Aranda on the bench to start, Curtis Mead will play first base for the Rays and hit fifth against Rodriguez, a pitcher he's never faced. This should just be a routine day of rest against a southpaw for the 26-year-old Aranda, who should be rostered in all fantasy formats after starting the year slashing an impressive .344/.442/.656 with a 1.09 OPS, four home runs, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored in his first 64 at-bats. The Mexican slugger is on an early-season tear, but he's gone just 1-for-10 with four walks and four K's against lefties. Mead has been cold, going 4-for-29 with no homers and one RBI in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com

Chicago Cubs outfielder Seiya Suzuki (wrist) has been scratched from the lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers at Wrigley Field due to right-wrist soreness, according to the team. Suzuki is being considered day-to-day. Veteran Justin Turner will serve as the designated hitter and will bat third against Dodgers right-hander Ben Casparius. Fantasy managers will want to make sure Suzuki is out of their lineup for Wednesday's action, but hopefully he'll be feeling good enough to return for Friday's series opener against the visiting Philadelphia Phillies after an off day on Thursday. It's a bit concerning for the 30-year-old, though, as he also missed three games last week with the same issue. Since returning in the last five games, Suzuki has gone 5-for-22 with a double, two homers and five RBI. The Japanese outfielder is playing well early on with a .276/.354/.540 slash line and six homers.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: Chicago Sun-Times - Maddie Lee

Boston Red Sox catcher Connor Wong (finger) took batting practice on Wednesday and caught a bullpen session. Manager Alex Cora said that Wong is fine with catching but needs to catch up hitting-wise. The 28-year-old backstop will likely go on a minor-league rehab assignment this weekend, which means he could be a candidate to come off the injured list and rejoin the BoSox's lineup at some point late next week. Wong is recovering from a fractured left pinkie finger in early April and will eventually return to being the club's primary catcher after his breakout season in 2024. In the meantime, Carlos Narvaez will be Boston's No. 1 backstop, with Blake Sabol backing him up. Wong had only played in nine games in 2025 before injuring his finger and had gone just 2-for-23 with a steal and seven strikeouts. Hopefully, he'll be more productive upon his return.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Jen McCaffrey

Boston Red Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito (hamstring) is scheduled to make what will be his final minor-league rehab start on Friday for Triple-A Worcester. If everything goes well there, manager Alex Cora said Giolito will come off the injured list to make his 2025 debut next Thursday, May 1, on the road against the division-rival Toronto Blue Jays. The 30-year-old veteran has posted a 4.97 ERA and 1.74 WHIP with 13 strikeouts and seven walks in 12 2/3 innings over his four rehab starts with Worcester and Double-A Portland to this point after suffering a left-hamstring strain in spring training. He also missed the entire 2024 campaign after having an internal-brace procedure on his right elbow, so fantasy managers will want to temper expectations for Giolito in his first season with Boston. Giolito was one of the better pitchers in the league with the White Sox, but that was back in 2019-21.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Jen McCaffrey

Los Angeles Dodgers left-hander Blake Snell (shoulder) "didn't feel great" after playing catch on Tuesday, according to manager Dave Roberts. As a result, the Dodgers will shut Snell down from throwing, and he might go for more imaging on his injured left shoulder. The 32-year-old veteran southpaw threw his first bullpen session last Saturday since landing on the 15-day injured list on April 6 with left-shoulder inflammation. Snell's setback is definitely cause for concern and could mean that he might not be able to return to L.A.'s starting rotation until late May. He admitted that he had been pitching through some shoulder issues early in his first season with the Blue before landing on the shelf. Snell allowed two unearned runs while walking eight and striking out four in nine innings in his first two starts of the season. For now, fantasy managers must keep the two-time Cy Young winner stashed in all leagues.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Athletic - Fabian Ardaya

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodriguez (elbow, lat) has been diagnosed with a mild lat strain, according to manager Brandon Hyde. Rodriguez is already feeling better and will start throwing again in a couple of weeks. "I'm trying to stay optimistic about it," Rodriguez said. It's good news for a pitcher that had already been rehabbing right-elbow inflammation that landed him on the 15-day injured list to begin the 2025 season. Still, the 25-year-old's lat injury will push back is overall timetable to make his season debut. In a best-case scenario, we're now looking at Rodriguez potentially not make his season debut until some point in June. It's a disappointing turn of events for a pitcher that had made encouraging strides last year before having his season cut short in August due to a lat injury. Fantasy managers must remain patient and keep him stashed in an IL spot.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: The Baltimore Sun - Jacob Calvin Meyer

Houston Astros rookie outfielder Cam Smith will retreat to the bench for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Daikin Park. With Smith getting a breather, Zach Dezenzo will start in right field and bat seventh against Blue Jays right-hander Bowden Francis. Smith will get a day of rest after starting each of the team's last 13 games. During that span, the 22-year-old prospect went 12-for-44 (.273) at the plate with three home runs, a triple, 10 RBI, a steal, seven runs scored, three walks and 11 strikeouts to rebound after a slow start to his first MLB season. The former 14th overall pick last year by the Chicago Cubs out of Florida State tore it up in spring training but looked overmatched early on during the regular season. He's now hitting .226/.304/.403 and should continue to play regularly in right field for Houston. Dezenzo has never faced Francis in his career.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerSource: MLB.com
