Henry Davis is catching and hitting ninth, while
Alexander Canario will start in left field and bat fifth against Cardinals left-hander
Matthew Liberatore. Although Bart has just one long ball on the season in 87 at-bats, he's done well as Pittsburgh's primary catcher with a strong .276 average (24-for-87) with seven RBI, seven runs and a stolen base. The 28-year-old will take a seat after starting the last four games. Pham could use a rest after going 2-for-18 of late as the team's primary left fielder. Canario is starting to see more playing time of late with Pham slumping, though. Davis has never faced Liberatore in his career, while Canario is hitless against him in just three at-bats.

James Outman was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday and is making his 2025 MLB debut on Tuesday against the hosting Miami Marlins, starting in center field and batting eighth against Marlins right-hander
Cal Quantrill. The 27-year-old is taking the roster spot of
Teoscar Hernandez (groin), who landed on the 10-day injured list. With
Tommy Edman (ankle) also on the shelf for L.A., Outman could play regularly for the Dodgers, at least against right-handed pitchers. Before joining the Dodgers for the first time this year, Outman was swinging it well with a .254/.322/.508 with an .830 OPS, eight home runs, 27 RBI and five stolen bases in 32 games with OKC. The former seventh-rounder only hit .147 (20-for-136) with 55 K's in 156 trips to the plate in 2024, but he's at least worth a short-term look as outfield depth in NL-only leagues.

Miguel Rojas will start at short and bat seventh against Marlins right-hander
Cal Quantrill. This will be Betts' first game on the bench since March 29 after he was still building up his strength that caused him to miss the club's two-game season-opening series in Tokyo, Japan, against the Chicago Cubs. The 32-year-old eight-time All-Star and former MVP cooled off a bit after a hot start, but he's gone 12-for-33 (.364) with a homer, double, triple, 10 RBI and 12 runs scored in his last eight games since April 27. Betts continues to be a must-start in L.A.'s dangerous lineup when he's on the field. Rojas is a low-upside DFS play at shortstop and is hitting .400 in just five career at-bats against Quantrill.

Updating a previous report, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder
Teoscar Hernandez (groin) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a Grade 1 left-adductor strain, according to manager Dave Roberts. The Dodgers initially called Hernandez's injury hamstring tightness when he was pulled from Monday's series opener against the Miami Marlins. It remains to be seen when the 32-year-old slugger will return to the Dodgers, but it's good news that his groin strain wasn't all that severe. Fantasy managers should obviously be stashing Hernandez, who entered Tuesday's play as the MLB leader with 34 RBI in 33 games played. The Dodgers called up outfielder

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher
Landon Knack has joined the team in Miami. Currently, the Dodgers do not have a listed starter for Wednesday's contest, which could open the door for Knack to get the spot-start. The 27-year-old has logged eight 2/3 innings of work this season for the Dodgers. He has appeared in three games and started two. Through this stint, he has held a 7.27 ERA with a 1.73 WHIP. Last summer, Knack made his MLB debut and performed well, holding a 3.65 ERA with a 1.10 WHIP. He struck out 69 batters in 69 innings while posting a strong 6.3 percent walk rate. At Triple-A this season, Knack has held a similar 3.98 ERA across 20 1/3 innings. If he does get the starting nod, he is best to fade in DFS competitions as he has only exceeded three innings of work in one appearance this season.

DJ LeMahieu (calf) is set to play in rehab games at Triple-A on Tuesday and Wednesday and could be cleared to return to the majors over the weekend. The 36-year-old has been sidelined due to a calf strain but has also been dealing with a hip injury. LeMahieu has appeared in six rehab games with Double-A Somerset and held an impressive .438/.500/.688 slash line. Fantasy managers should keep an eye on his progress with Triple-A as he could be cleared to make his regular-season debut later this week. Last season, LeMahieu was limited by injuries, too, and appeared in just 67 contests. During this brief stint, he struggled and held a .204/.269/.259 with just two long balls. When he does return, the veteran could carve out a significant role in the starting nine with
Jazz Chisholm Jr. (oblique) on the injured list.

The Seattle Mariners have claimed outfielder
Leody Taveras off waivers from the Texas Rangers. In a corresponding move, the Mariners have designated right-handed pitcher
Luis F. Castillo. The Rangers placed Taveras on outright waivers earlier this week. Fantasy managers should expect the 26-year-old to serve as a depth option in the Seattle outfield. Through the opening month of the 2025 campaign, Taveras has struggled as he has posted a .241/.259/.342 slash line with one home run and six stolen bases. Under the hood, he has generated a low .201 xwOBA and a .198 xBA. However, in 2024, Taveras showed flashes of upside at times as he hit 12 home runs and swiped 23 bags. Fantasy managers in 15+ team category formats should monitor his status as he could be a viable target for stolen bases if he sees consistent playing time.

Milwaukee Brewers left-handed pitcher
Aaron Ashby (oblique) is set to begin a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on Tuesday. The southpaw has been sidelined since March due to this oblique strain. However, it appears the left-hander is set to take the next step in his recovery process. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progress as he could return to Milwaukee in the coming weeks. Last season, the 26-year-old logged 28 1/3 innings of work in the major leagues and held a strong 2.86 ERA with a stellar 1.06 WHIP. He struck out 33 batters and served up walks at an 8.4 percent rate. He also generated a .202 xBA with an elite 60.5 percent ground-ball rate. While he spent most of his time in the bullpen last season, given the numerous injuries in the Milwaukee rotation, Ashby could find a role in the rotation later in the season.

The Texas Rangers officially recalled outfielder
Evan Carter from Triple-A Round Rock, and he's starting in center field and batting seventh on Tuesday against Boston Red Sox right-hander
Lucas Giolito at Fenway Park. Although Carter hit just .188 (27-for-144), dealt with injuries and played in only 45 games for the Rangers last year, he's worth looking at as a waiver-wire pickup right away in deeper mixed formats now that he's back in the big leagues. The Rangers recently cut
Leody Taveras, so the 22-year-old Carter could end up being on the strong side of a platoon in center for Texas. Carter was cold at the plate early on at Round Rock, but he hit .271 with two home runs and three steals in his last 12 games to get the call back to the majors. He has a hit in just two career at-bats against Giolito.

Nolan Gorman is starting on the bench for Tuesday's contest against the division-rival Pittsburgh Pirates at Busch Stadium. This could be more of a regular occurrence against right-handed pitchers for Gorman, who has struggled mightily to a .175/.286/.302 slash line in his first 63 at-bats of 2025. The 24-year-old former 19th overall pick in 2018 has a home run, nine RBI, 10 runs scored, 11 walks and 21 strikeouts in 21 games played.
Brendan Donovan is starting at second base and batting third,
Alec Burleson is at first base and hitting sixth, and
Willson Contreras is the designated hitter and batting fifth against Pirates right-hander

Paul Skenes. The Cardinals held Winn out of the series-opening win over the Pirates on Monday after he suffered a mild left-ankle sprain in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader against the New York Mets. The 23-year-old is back in there on Tuesday and back near the top of the batting order, but DFS gamers will likely be passing on him in this matchup against the hard-throwing Skenes, last year's National League Rookie of the Year. Winn has excelled in the two-hole, though, hitting .412 (7-for-17) in a small sample size with two home runs, three RBI and a stolen base. In 12 career at-bats versus Skenes, he's hitting .167 with a .334 OPS.

Dylan Moore (hip) has been reinstated from the 10-day IL, with infielder/outfielder
Samad Taylor having been optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. The Mariners will be getting their super-utility player back in Moore, who had been dealing with right hip inflammation. The 32-year-old can be a bit streaky, but was a multi-category contributor before hitting the IL, hitting .286 with six home runs, nine RBI, and 16 runs scored, while adding five steals. Eligible at 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, and OF on Yahoo!, the right-handed hitter offers a ton of flexibility for fantasy managers in leagues with daily lineup changes and is rostered in just over half of leagues.
