Giants Releasing Lil'Jordan Humphrey
Lil'Jordan Humphrey on Tuesday, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Humphrey will hit the open market despite going for six catches, 94 yard and a touchdown on eight targets during preseason action. The 27-year-old had career-highs in catches (31), targets (45) and receiving yards (293) while scoring one touchdown in 17 games (seven starts) in 2024 with the Denver Broncos. Humphrey originally went undrafted out of Texas before joining the New Orleans Saints and making his NFL debut in 2019. He has only 62 catches on 92 targets for 770 yards and seven touchdowns in 58 games (23 starts) in his six years in the NFL. It's possible that Humphrey could join New York's practice squad this year if he doesn't get scooped up by another organization looking for receiver depth.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
The New York Giants are releasing wide receiver Packers Releasing Mecole Hardman
Mecole Hardman on Tuesday, sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. Despite the Packers dealing with multiple injuries to their receiving corps in training camp, the Packers will move on from Hardman, who was looking to secure a depth role with the Packers after spending the first six years of his NFL career with the Kansas City Chiefs. In his six NFL seasons, the 27-year-old pass-catcher has caught 178 of hi 258 targets for 2,302 yards and 16 touchdowns in 80 regular-season games (28 starts). Hardman also has plenty of special-teams experience and should be able to find work with another team for his versatility and speed during the 2025 season. Last year in 12 regular-season games (no starts) with KC, Hardman caught just 12 passe for 90 yards and no scores.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz
The Green Bay Packers are releasing wide receiver Dolphins Work Out Kicker Eddy Pineiro
Eddy Pineiro on Tuesday, a source tells Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Dolphins are looking for a new kicker to begin the 2025 regular season after they announced on Monday that Jason Sanders (hip) will be out for the the next four to five week with a hip injury. The 29-year-old Pineiro has been solid in his five NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears, New York Jets and Carolina Panthers, making 88.1 percent of his 126 field-goal attempts, including going 11-for-14 from 50-plus yards out. He spent the last three years in Carolina, going 80-for-90 on field-goal tries and 80-for-87 on his extra points in 49 games. Pineiro has been productive the last three seasons, but if he signs with Miami and opens the year as their starting kicker, he'll be a deep-league kicking streamer, at best.Source: FOX Sports - Jordan Schultz

Browns Expected to Release Pierre Strong Jr.
Pierre Strong Jr. (concussion), sources tell Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports. Before being released, Strong suffered a concussion in the team's preseason finale on Saturday against the Los Angeles Rams. The 26-year-old will hit the open market looking for a new team to latch on with before the start of the regular season in two weeks. Strong was originally a fourth-round draft pick (127th overall) by the New England Patriots in the 2022 NFL draft out of South Dakota State. He spent just his rookie year in New England before playing with Cleveland the last two years. In his three years in the league, Strong has averaged a healthy 5.0 yards per carry while rushing for 499 yards and two touchdowns on 99 rushing attempts over 46 games (one start). He's well off the fantasy radar for now.Source: CBS Sports - Matt Zenitz

Carson Steele Released by Chiefs
Carson Steele, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team. An undrafted free agent signee in 2024, Steele earned some playing time early last season for Kansas City and finished the year with 56 carries for 183 yards. The Chiefs have much better depth at the position heading into 2025 after bringing back veteran Kareem Hunt, signing Elijah Mitchell in free agency, and using a seventh-round pick on Brashard Smith. With Steele now out of the picture, Hunt, Mitchell, and Smith will compete for touches in Kansas City behind undisputed RB1 Isiah Pacheco.Source: The 33rd Team - Ari Meirov
The Kansas City Chiefs have released running back Irv Smith Jr. Suffers Ankle Injury, Could Be Placed on Injured Reserve
Irv Smith Jr. (ankle) has suffered an ankle sprain that could lead to him being placed on injured reserve, according to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston. The Texans already lost some talent at the position earlier this summer when Brevin Jordan (knee) went down with a serious knee injury. Without Smith Jr. and Jordan, 2024 fourth-rounder Cade Stover and recent trade acquisition Harrison Bryant make up the depth behind top tight end Dalton Schultz. Schultz is a low-upside TE2 in fantasy, but his playing time in Houston may be a bit more secure now than it was when the preseason began. UPDATE: Smith was placed on season-ending Injured Reserve on Tuesday.Source: KPRC 2 Houston - Aaron Wilson
Houston Texans tight end Jelani Woods Released by Colts
Jelani Woods, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. A third-round pick in 2022, Woods had 25 catches and three touchdowns in his rookie season, but injuries have prevented him from playing in an NFL game in either of the last two years. After drafting Tyler Warren in the first round of this year's draft, the Colts have a deep tight end room that also includes Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree, and Will Mallory. Woods is an intriguing talent with excellent physical traits, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see him get a second chance elsewhere.Source: ESPN - Jeremy Fowler
The Indianapolis Colts are releasing tight end Tyjae Spears to Begin the Season on Injured Reserve
Tyjae Spears (ankle) will start the season on Injured Reserve and miss a minimum of four games, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Spears suffered a high ankle sprain in preseason play that will end up sidelining him for close to two months. With Spears set to miss the start of the season, Tony Pollard should be in for a significant volume of snaps and touches in the Titans' backfield. Rookie sixth-rounder Kalel Mullings (ankle) now looks like the leader to be the RB2, but he's dealing with an ankle injury of his own. When Spears returns, he profiles as a low-end RB3/flex option, but fantasy managers need to downgrade him given the now-guaranteed missed time.Source: ESPN - Adam Schefter
Tennessee Titans running back Jake Haener Released by Saints
Jake Haener, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network. A fourth-round pick by New Orleans in 2023, Haener started training camp in competition with Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough for the team's QB1 role. Haener had clearly fallen behind Rattler and Shough in recent weeks, and he will now get a chance to latch on elsewhere. The 26-year-old played in eight games (one start) for the Saints in 2024, completing 18 of 39 pass attempts for 226 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Haener may have an opportunity to sign with another team as a backup, but he's unlikely to be fantasy-relevant in 2025.Source: NFL Network - Mike Garafolo
The New Orleans Saints are waiving quarterback Jordan Watkins Does Side Work on Monday
Jordan Watkins (ankle) worked out on a side field during the team's practice on Monday, according to Matt Barrows of The Athletic. Watkins suffered a high-ankle sprain in the team's preseason opener and has not practiced since. A fourth-round pick out of Ole Miss, Watkins was reportedly having a solid training camp before the injury. The initial timeline provided for Watkins was a one-month absence, which means he's still likely a couple of weeks away from returning in full. Both Brandon Aiyuk (knee) and Jauan Jennings (calf) may still be sidelined when Watkins returns. If that's the case, the 23-year-old will have a chance to earn regular playing time and possibly even be the 49ers' WR2 behind Ricky Pearsall.Source: The Athletic - Matt Barrows
