Miami Marlins manager Clayton McCullough said on Sunday that third baseman
Connor Norby (wrist) is scheduled to visit with a specialist in Arizona during the All-Star break this week to "plot a course of action." Norby injured his wrist last Friday and was placed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with left-wrist inflammation. Although it's unclear exactly what the 25-year-old's timetable for a return looks like, it seems unlikely that he'll be ready to return for the start of the second half of the season this Friday, July 18. Norby finishes the first half of the season for the Fish with a .241/.289/.364 slash line with a weak .653 OPS, six home runs, 26 RBI, 33 runs scored and seven steals as the team's primary third baseman. Javier Sanoja and
Graham Pauley to split third-base duties in Miami until Norby is able to return.

Detroit Tigers right-hander
Sawyer Gipson-Long (neck) made a minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Toledo on Sunday and looked sharp, tossing 4 2/3 shutout innings without allowing a hit, walking one and striking out five against Triple-A Omaha. Gipson-Long threw 41 of his 59 pitches for strikes in the outing and was in control all the way. The 27-year-old was put on the 15-day injured list back on July 2 due to a neck strain, but he appears to be recovering nicely and could come off the IL to rejoin the big-league club for the start of the second half of the season on July 18. Gipson-Long had a nice 2.70 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in four starts in his rookie year in 2023 but didn't pitch at all in the big leagues in 2024. He allowed 13 runs (12 earned) with four walks and 18 K's in five outings (two starts) this year before his injury. Gipson-Long could be a rotation option for Detroit in the second half.

Drew Timme posted 30 points during Sunday's Summer League 102-96 loss against the Wizards. Timme also logged five rebounds, three assists, and one steal in 31 minutes. During his last two Summer League outings in Las Vegas, the 24-year-old has scored a total of 52 points while shooting 62.6 percent from the field. During the 2024-25 campaign, he saw action in nine contests, posting 12.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists across 28.2 minutes. The Gonzaga standout signed a two-year, minimum-salary contract at the end of March and is making the most of his opportunity with a rebuilding club.

Tampa Bay Rays left-hander
Shane McClanahan (triceps) made another minor-league rehab start on Sunday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and allowed an earned run on four hits while walking none and striking out three in only 1 2/3 innings of work. McClanahan threw 23 of his 36 pitches for strikes and got up to 94 mph with his fastball after a setback with his left triceps previously. The 28-year-old southpaw was attempting to return from Tommy John surgery this spring before suffering from nerve irritation in his triceps that has kept him sidelined for all of 2025 to this point. He will eventually move his rehab to Triple-A Durham before potentially joining the Rays' starting rotation at some point in August. McClanahan has ace potential when healthy, although it remains to be seen how much he'll be abel to help fantasy managers the rest of the way in 2025.

Quinshon Judkins' recent arrest for domestic battery over the weekend via the arrest report. Judkins' accuser told police that he punched her with a closed fist in the chin/lip area and also hit her in the left arm and thigh while they were in a car leaving the airport on July 7. In addition to this disturbing news involving the 21-year-old second-round pick back in April out of Ohio State, Judkins remains unsigned by the Browns. Not only will he potentially miss valuable development time during training camp this summer, but he could be facing a suspension in his first NFL season in 2025. If Judkins is suspended for any length of time, it will make both
Jerome Ford and fellow rookie
Dylan Sampson even more valuable for fantasy purposes.

On Saturday, Tuco Tokkos earned his first UFC win by defeating Junior Tafa via second-round submission on the UFC Nashville main-card opener. Not including Tafa's brief striking success in the second round, Tokkos was on point throughout this fight. He dictated the tempo of the fight with his wrestling and he took Tafa down multiple times before sinking in an arm-triangle choke to submit Tafa near the end of the second round. In 9:25 of action, Tokkos landed five takedowns and 11 significant strikes. With the win, Tokkos has improved to 11-5 as a professional and is now 1-2 in the UFC.

Alexandre Sarr posted a near triple-double in a 102-96 victory over the Nets during Summer League action in Las Vegas on Sunday. Sarr grabbed a game-high 12 boards, eight blocks, 16 points and two assists across 29 minutes. As a rookie last season, the 20-year-old averaged 1.5 blocks per contest. Through two Summer League games, he's already registered 11 blocks. Fantasy managers should expect Sarr to continue building off the success of his rookie campaign, where he was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team.

Junior Tafa was unsuccessful in his light heavyweight debut as he suffered a second-round submission loss to Tuco Tokkos on the UFC Nashville main card opener on Saturday. Tafa had some success with his striking in the second round. Still, Tokkos was the one dictating the action, completely outwrestling Tafa, taking him down time and time again and eventually submitting him with an arm-triangle choke. In 9:25 of action, Tafa landed 24 significant strikes. With the loss, Tafa fell to 6-4 as a pro and 2-4 in the UFC.

Linebacker Kaden Elliss has kind of flown under the radar among the Atlanta Falcons' defensive additions this offseason, but The Athletic's Josh Kendall believes that Elliss could end up being the team's most impactful pass-rusher this year. The 30-year-old veteran has 16 sacks in the last three seasons and leads the league in pressure percentage in that span. Despite the fact that the Falcons have also added outside linebackers Leonard Floyd, Jalon Walker and James Pearce Jr., defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has promised to keep deploying Elliss as a pass-rusher at inside linebacker. Kendall thinks that Elliss could rack up double-digit sacks in 2025 for the first time in his career -- his career-high of seven came in 2022 with the New Orleans Saints. Last year, Elliss had a career-best 151 tackles (85 solo), five sacks, eight tackles for loss, 16 QB hits and his first career interception.

Kyle Filipowski scored 21 points in Sunday's Summer League loss to the Golden State Warriors. He also added six rebounds, five assists, one assist and one block across 24 minutes. The 21-year-old has now had two impressive outings to kick off Summer League in Las Vegas as he posted 32 points, six rebounds, and five assists against Charlotte on Friday. Filipowski averaged 9.6 points and 6.1 rebounds in 72 contests in his first season in the NBA. He wasn't a consistent fantasy contributor, although he did post averages of 14.0 points and 8.6 rebounds in his 27 starts during the 2024-25 regular season.

The Athletic's Doug Haller writes that Arizona Cardinals defensive tackle Darius Robinson is healthy and positioned to make his mark in his second NFL season in 2025. The Cardinals took Robinson 27th overall in 2024 out of Missouri, but he injured his calf in training camp and spent the rest of his rookie campaign trying to play catch-up. As a result, the 23-year-old interior defensive lineman failed to make much of an impact, recording just 10 tackles (four solo) and one sack in six games played in the desert. With Robinson healthy going into this year, though, the Cardinals' defensive line could be much improved after the drafted pass-rusher Walter Nolen in the first round in April and also signed veterans Calais Campbell and Dalvin Tomlinson in free agency. Robinson will surely play a much bigger part for Arizona's D-line in 2025.

Despite just requesting a new contract or a trade, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver
Jauan Jennings (calf) is expected to be present when the team's veterans report for training camp next Tuesday, according to The Athletic's Matt Barrows. However, it doesn't necessarily mean that Jennings' situation will be smooth and tidy after that. After signing a two-year, $15.4 million deal last year as a restricted free agent, the 28-year-old wideout broke out in 2024 to the tune of 975 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 77 receptions (all career-highs) in 15 games (10 starts). He missed some spring workouts with a minor calf injury, but he's expected to be fully healthy for the start of the 2025 regular season. With

The Athletic's Nate Taylor points out that Kansas City Chiefs offensive guard Trey Smith is the only player in the NFL that is currently on the franchise tag. Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Chiefs have until 4 pm ET on Tuesday to sign Smith to a multi-year contract extension. If a new deal isn't completed by the deadline on Tuesday, Smith will earn $23.4 million on the franchise tag in 2025, which makes him the highest-paid guard in the league. The 26-year-old is a key member of the Chiefs' offensive line, as he's started 67 of a possible 68 regular-season games and all 13 of the team's playoff games since he was taken in the sixth round by KC in 2021. He is one of the NFL's best right guards, so it would be a mild surprise if they are unable to reach an extension with him before Tuesday evening.

J.P. France (shoulder) threw live batting practice Wednesday in the latest step in his recovery from a torn shoulder capsule. France, who hasn't appeared in the majors since April 2024, underwent shoulder surgery last July. The Astros still haven't provided a clear timeline for his return, though they do expect the 30-year-old back sometime this season. France combined for 29 appearances (28 starts) from 2023-24 and recorded back-end production. Over a 161 2/3-inning span, he went 11-9 with a 4.40 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, and 123:59 K:BB.

Max Kranick (elbow) is getting another opinion from Dr. Keith Meister on his injured elbow and could require Tommy John surgery, Abbey Mastracco of the New York Daily News reports. Kranick has been out since June 15 with a flexor strain, and going under the knife would cost him the rest of this season and perhaps all of 2026. It would be the second TJ surgery for Kranick, who also had the procedure in 2022. After two seasons out of the majors, the 27-year-old returned in 2025 to throw 37 innings of 3.65 ERA ball with 25:5 K:BB and five holds. Unfortunately for Kranick, he may not be able to build on those solid numbers because of his injury.

Cade Povich (hip) posted a lights-out performance in a High-A rehab start on Sunday. Povich threw three perfect innings and recorded three strikeouts on 30 pitches (23 strikes). The 25-year-old has been on the 15-day injured list since mid-June and recently suffered a setback, making Sunday's excellent outing all the more encouraging. The Orioles expect Povich to return sometime after the All-Star break. Povich has gone 2-5 with a subpar 5.15 ERA across 13 appearances (12 starts) and 64 2/3 innings, though he has logged an impressive 68 strikeouts against 23 walks.

Jacob Melton (ankle) has recently begun participating in baseball activities at the team's facility in Florida. Melton, on the 10-day injured list since June 14 with a sprained right ankle, is still without an exact timetable for a return. The Astros' second-ranked prospect at MLB Pipeline, Melton made his major league debut June 1 and went 7-for-29 with six RBI, 12 strikeouts, and two walks before going on the IL. He hit a productive .254/.371/.508 in 71 plate appearances with Triple-A Sugar Land this year to earn his first call-up. Sal Frelick (hamstring) underwent an MRI on his left hamstring after an 8-1 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. Frelick had been dealing with soreness in his hamstring recently, and he had to leave the game in the third inning after aggravating it on a sliding catch. There's no word on the severity yet, but it helps that Frelick will have a few days to recover because of the All-Star break. The 25-year-old has been an important contributor on a playoff-contending Milwaukee club, having slashed a career-best .294/.354/.404 with seven homers, 39 RBI, 46 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases in 385 plate appearances.

Roki Sasaki (shoulder) will throw his second bullpen session on Monday as he works back from a shoulder impingement. Barring any issues in his rehab, the Dodgers expect Sasaki to return in late August, according to manager Dave Roberts. Sasaki last pitched in the majors on May 9 and has since encountered some bumps in the road in his recovery. The Dodgers had to shut him down from throwing for a period, but he's now making progress. This has been a rough first year in the bigs for Sasaki, a big-ticket offseason signing from Japan. Along with his injury troubles, the 23-year-old phenom has struggled to a 4.72 ERA with almost as many walks (22) as strikeouts (24) in 34 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin (back) was decent in his rehab outing on Sunday with Double-A Chesapeake, throwing four innings while allowing five hits, two earned runs, one walk, two strikeouts, and giving up one home run. He is scheduled to throw Friday in Sarasota and then potentially rejoin the Orioles' rotation after that. Eflin was removed from his start on June 28 due to lower-back discomfort. After a few weeks off, this was his first rehab start, and it does not appear he experienced any setbacks, suggesting he will likely rejoin the Orioles rotation shortly after the All-Star break. So far this season, Eflin has battled multiple injuries, and when he has been healthy, he has not been great with a 5.95 ERA, 1.44 WHIP. His advanced metrics aren't much better (4.25 xERA and 4.41 SIERA). He will look to get back on track in the second half, but understandably, fantasy managers may want to see a good start or two before putting him in their starting lineups.
