Chicago Cubs infield prospect
Matt Shaw went 4-for-5 with a double and an RBI during Tuesday's contest against Triple-A Buffalo. This was Shaw's third-straight game tallying multiple hits. Since returning to Triple-A Iowa on April 18, the Maryland product has held a strong .290/.405/.452 slash line with two doubles and a home run. Shaw was able to make the Opening Day roster out of spring training but was optioned back to the minor leagues after he struggled. Across his first 18 games in the big leagues, the former 13th overall pick held a modest .172/.294/.241 slash line with just two extra-base hits. Fantasy managers in deeper NL-only formats should continue to monitor his status at Triple-A, as he should contend for an early return to the big leagues. When he does return, he will be worth rostering in all standard leagues given the potential he has shown at Triple-A.

Baltimore Orioles right-hander
Kyle Gibson (0-1) made his season debut Tuesday night but struggled significantly in the 15-3 loss to the New York Yankees. He allowed nine earned runs on 11 hits, including five home runs, and was pulled before finishing the fourth inning. The Bronx Bombers jumped on the 37-year-old early, launching back-to-back-to-back home runs in the first. His rough outing only adds to the concerns for a Baltimore rotation that has struggled to find consistency early in the season. Gibson will look to rebound in his next scheduled start on Tuesday on the road against the Minnesota Twins.

Toronto Blue Jays right-hander
Bowden Francis (2-4) faced significant challenges on Tuesday night, surrendering seven earned runs in just three innings in a 10-2 home loss to the Red Sox. He was tagged with his fourth loss of the season. Francis gave up five home runs and struck out only one batter, capping off a tough April. After showing promise as a starter for Toronto last August, Francis now holds a 5.28 ERA over 30 2/3 innings, with opponents batting .274 against him. The Blue Jays will need him to regain his form as they fall behind in the AL East. Francis will look to rebound in his next start on Sunday at home against the Cleveland Guardians.

Boston Red Sox left-hander
Garrett Crochet (3-2) continued his early-season dominance in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Blue Jays. Crochet earned the win after allowing two runs on four hits while striking out six over seven innings. He now has a 2.05 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 50 strikeouts through 44 innings and has firmly established himself as the Red Sox's No. 1 starter. Crochet figures to shoulder a significant workload as Boston pushes to stay in the mix in a competitive American League East. The southpaw's next scheduled start is Sunday at home against the Minnesota Twins.

Cleveland Guardians right-hander
Tanner Bibee went seven strong innings in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Minnesota Twins. Bibee recorded five strikeouts and allowed just one run on five hits, lowering his ERA to 4.36 on the season. He did not factor into the decision. While he was not able to record a win after a
Ty France home run tied the game in the fifth, Bibee still built on his previous outing in a significant way. He now has 25 strikeouts in 33 innings and carries a 1.30 WHIP while holding opponents to a .242 average. Bibee will look to build on Tuesday's performance in his next start on Sunday on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Seiya Suzuki powered the team to a commanding 9-0 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Tuesday night. Suzuki went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, a triple, a walk, and two additional runs scored in Tuesday's victory. The 30-year-old is now slashing .298/.368/.596 and continues to produce at the plate after his best offensive season in 2024. He has also recorded four multi-hit performances in his last five games. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder
Andy Pages went 3-for-5 with a home run and two RBI in Tuesday's 15-2 victory over the Miami Marlins. He added two singles, a steal, and scored twice. Pages is the hottest hitter in baseball right now, putting together a seven-game hit streak with five multi-hit efforts, including three three-hit and a four-hit performance. Over that time, the 24-year-old is an astounding 17-for-29 (.586) with seven extra-base hits (four home runs, three doubles), eight RBI, three steals, and nine runs scored. The hot stretch has him up to a .293/.369/.533 slash line, and he's well on his way to outpacing the statistics he accrued in his first big-league action last season. However, he may see some regression soon, considering he's vastly outperforming his .220 xBA.

Andrew Benintendi hit back-to-back long balls in the bottom of the first inning, though that'd be all the offense they could muster. Robert Jr. may finally be waking up at the plate, as he's recorded two homers in his last three games while putting together a four-game hit streak -- his longest of the year. Additionally, he's stolen four bases during that stretch, already putting him at 11 on the young season. He has an excellent chance to eclipse the career-high he set in that figure a season ago (23).

Los Angeles Dodgers designated hitter
Shohei Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a home run and a stolen base in his team's 15-2 victory over the Miami Marlins. He added a walk, two strikeouts, and two runs scored. Ohtani blasted a 114.1 MPH solo shot to lead off the bottom of the first inning -- qualifying for his hardest hit ball of the season thus far. It was also the first time he hit a home run and stole a base in the same game this year, as he's started to pick it up in recent days. The superstar slugger is riding a four-game hit streak in which he's 7-for-15 (.467) with five extra-base hits (three doubles, one triple), three steals, and six runs scored. Ohtani has driven in just ten runs on the campaign, but he leads the league with 29 runs scored in 28 games.

Detroit Tigers second baseman
Gleyber Torres went 3-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Tuesday's 6-4 loss to the Houston Astros. He added two singles and a stolen base. His home run came in the top of the ninth inning with the Tigers down by four runs, cutting the deficit to two, though that'd be the final runs they'd push across. The Venezuela native has been solid in his first stint with Detroit, batting .292 with three home runs, four steals, 14 RBI, and 12 runs scored in 18 games. Aside from his average -- which would be the highest of his career if it holds -- Torres is sporting a minuscule 8.0% strikeout rate, placing him in the 98th percentile of all major-league hitters. A change of scenery has boded well for the 28-year-old.

Chicago Cubs right-handed pitching prospect
Cade Horton logged a season-high six innings on Tuesday. In this outing, Horton allowed just one run and struck out five en route to picking up his second victory of the campaign. In this start, he allowed just three hits and one free pass. Through his first 23 innings of the Triple-A regular season (five starts), the top pitching prospect in Chicago has held a 1.17 ERA with a 0.96 WHIP. He has struck out 28 batters and served up 12 free passes. This is an excellent sign for the former seventh overall pick, as he was limited to just 34 1/3 innings of work last season due to shoulder strain. However, Horton appears to have returned to form and is flashing elite upside. If he continues to produce well at Triple-A, he could make his MLB debut in the coming weeks.

Alex Bregman went 3-for-5 with a home run in Tuesday's 10-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. His other two hits were singles, and he scored three runs. The 31-year-old put the Red Sox up 2-0 in the top of the first inning when he sent a
Bowden Francis splitter over the left-field wall at 103.7 MPH. His other two hits came off the bat at over 100 MPH, too, as he's enjoying a stellar start to his career in Boston. Bregman is slashing a superb .331/.401/.570 with 11 doubles, six homers, 23 RBI, and 22 runs scored. He seems to have taken a slight step back in his strikeout percentage (18.2%), but his batted ball metrics have been exceptional. In addition to upping his average exit velocity and hard-hit rate, Bregman has recorded the hardest-hit ball of his career in the early going (109.6 MPH).

Jefferson Rojas has had a slow start to the High-A regular season. Through his first 11 games, Rojas has held a modest .214/.327/.333 slash line with two doubles, one home run, and one stolen base. However, on Tuesday, Rojas enjoyed a productive outing and could be turning the corner. Facing High-A Cedar Rapids, Rojas would hit his first long ball and swipe his first bag of the season. The 20-year-old missed the start of the season due to a hamstring injury. Last summer, Rojas spent most of his time with High-A South Bend and posted a solid .345/.310/.336 slash line with 10 doubles, six home runs, and an impressive 21 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should expect the No. 94-ranked prospect in the sport to push for a Double-A promotion in the coming weeks if he continues to find his footing.

Aidan Smith went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI, and a stolen base during their contest on Tuesday against High-A Aberdeen. This was Smith's second-straight game tallying multiple hits. Over his last four games, the outfielder has tallied seven hits and swiped three bags. However, before this recent surge at the plate, the 20-year-old tallied just four hits over his last nine games. Through his first 19 games at the High-A level, the former fourth-round selection has held a solid .267/.353/.373 line with three doubles and nine stolen bases. Last season, Smith was included in the package that sent
Randy Arozarena to the Seattle Mariners. He spent his entire campaign at the Low-A level. Fantasy managers should expect Smith to remain with High-A Bowling Green throughout most of the 2025 season.

San Diego Padres infield prospect
Leodalis De Vries went 3-for-3 with a double, a home run, and a walk during Tuesday's contest against High-A Dayton. This outing snapped a minor skid for De Vries as he went 2-for-15 over his last four games entering Tuesday. However, prior to this skid, De Vries held a .435/.480/1.662 line over his last six contests. Through his first 18 games at the High-A level, the top-ranked prospect in San Diego has posted an impressive .290/.359/.609 slash line with four doubles, three triples, four home runs, and two stolen bases. Last summer, De Vries made his professional debut with Low-A Lake Elsinore but struggled as he held a modest .237/.361/.441 line. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression as he is developing into one of the top prospects in the sport.
