Packers Very Confident In Tim Boyle
4 years agoGreen Bay Packers quarterback Tim Boyle has really impressed the team during training camp and appears to have a leg up as Aaron Rodgers' backup over first-rounder Jordan Love. "He’s proven himself day-in and day-out. Glad we have him. Again, with Aaron back there, you hope you never have to go that route. But if we did, I feel very confident we can win games with Tim Boyle," general manager Brian Gutekunst said. Boyle has completed 60 of 110 passes for 650 yards and nine touchdowns and only two interceptions for a passer rating of 91.9 over the last two preseasons. The odds are stacked against Love with organized team activities and preseason games this year wiped out due to COVID-19. Boyle doesn't have much regular season experience, but he's spent a full year in head coach Matt LaFleur's offensive system. It's further evidence that Love doesn't warrant a roster spot in redraft leagues in 2020.
