Pablo Sandoval Could Miss First Month
Pablo Sandoval (elbow) could take some at-bats in spring training, but he probably won't play the field as he recovers from Tommy John surgery. Sandoval could be ready for games around a month into the regular season, barring any setbacks. The Kung Fu Panda hit a respectable .268/.313/.507 with 14 home runs and 41 RBI in 272 at-bats with the Giants last year, but he might not see much playing time in 2020 unless Evan Longoria or Brandon Belt miss time with injuries. We wouldn't bet on the 33-year-old to produce much while getting a late start to the season in a bench role, but he does give the Giants an experienced bat for depth.
