11 months agoWashington Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom, who recorded a hat trick on Saturday against New Jersey, scored again on Sunday, netting the opening goal in a 6-5 loss to the Ducks. John Carlson and Alex Ovechkin picked up the assists. Backstrom has been in immense form lately as he's now collected eight points in the last three games. Sitting on 33 points for the year, Backstrom is suddenly a top-10 scorer in the league. He might end up with a career year if he manages to keep this up. Backstrom has broken the 80-point barrier just once in the last five seasons, but he's currently on pace for 105 points.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
