Nick Pivetta Pitches Complete Game Versus Reds
6 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Nick Pivetta dominated the Reds on Saturday, pitching a complete game while allowing just six hits and one earned run. He struck out six batters and walked no one. Pivetta's one of the toughest pitchers in the game to gauge. Entering the season, he was a trendy sleeper pick, but he struggled mightily out of the gate, posting an ERA of 8.35 after four starts, which prompted the Phillies to send him down to Triple-A for a tune-up. Since returning the Phillies, Pivetta has made three starts, earning two wins while lowering his ERA to 4.93. It's tough to rely on someone as up-and-down as Pivetta, but he's worth rostering in most leagues due to the fact that he has the ability to produce like a top-40 pitcher when he's right.
