Nick Kurtz Day-to-Day with Hip-Flexor Injury
Nick Kurtz (hip) suffered a hip flexor injury during their contest against the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday evening. Martin Gallegos of MLB.com noted that Kurtz was pulled from the contest due to this injury and that the team will evaluate him prior to Sunday's game. If Kurtz were to sit out on Sunday, fantasy managers should expect either Tyler Soderstrom or CJ Alexander to get the nod at first base. After a slow start to his major league career, the former fourth overall pick from last year's MLB Draft has begun to turn the corner. Over his last five contests, Kurtz has begun to find his power swing, as he has launched four long balls with a stellar .412 AVG. The Athletics are best to fade in DFS this afternoon, facing Philadelphia southpaw Jesus Luzardo, who enters this game with a 1.95 ERA.
