Nick Foles In Tight Race At Quarterback
4 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Nick Foles will find out over the weekend whether he will be named starter for Week 1 against the Lions. Foles was acquired in the offseason from the Jaguars and the veteran has been competing with incumbent starter Mitch Trubisky for the lead job. Foles' career has been a rollercoaster, from exploding onto the scene in Chip Kelly's offense in 2013, to losing several starting jobs, to coming off the bench and leading the Eagles to the Super Bowl, to then suffering a collarbone injury that sank his season in 2019. Now he finds himself in a position to become the starter of a Bears offense that struggled mightily last season. If Foles is named starter, expect him to run an efficient, cautious offense that may help the Bears win games but may lack the ability to win the hearts of fantasy players.
