Nathan Eovaldi Throws Two-Inning Simulated Game
6 years agoBoston Red Sox starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi (elbow) threw a two-inning simulated game on Tuesday. He threw 37 warmup pitches before throwing 20 pitches in the first inning and 16 in the second inning for a total of 73. He could go out on a rehab assignment and return to the rotation in mid-June, barring any setbacks. Eovaldi had loose bodies removed from his right elbow on April 23. The hard-throwing right-hander struggled to begin the year before the injury, but his strikeout upside should be appealing to those in deeper mixed leagues when he's back in the rotation. Think about scooping him up soon if his previous owner dropped him in your league.
