Dallas Mavericks center Daniel Gafford (ankle) left Wednesday's loss to the Denver Nuggets early in the third period. He's been battling a right ankle sprain all season and couldn't continue after logging 18 minutes. Gafford had six points and 10 rebounds. The early exit leaves Gafford questionable for Thursday's second leg of a back-to-back against the Utah Jazz. Dwight Powell, who filled in for Gafford in the starting lineup on Monday night against the Brooklyn Nets, could move back into the first unit. In a starting role, Powell provided five points, 10 rebounds, and three assists on Monday.--Taavi Pailk
