Miguel Vargas Could Hit This Weekend
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said infielder Miguel Vargas (finger) could be "green-lighted" to swing in Cactus League games "hopefully" by this weekend. Vargas has been playing in spring games but hasn't been allowed to hit, but he said he has started hitting in the batting cages. The 23-year-old youngster is recovering from a fractured right pinkie finger, but he will have plenty of time to get ready for Opening Day, and he could be the team's primary second baseman in 2023. Vargas hit .304/.404/.511 with 17 home runs in 113 games at Triple-A last year and is one of the team's best hitting prospects, so fantasy managers shouldn't ignore him late in deep-mixed drafts this spring.
