Minnesota Twins first/third baseman Miguel Sano (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list on Friday, as expected. Sano missed each of the last two games with right hamstring tightness, though the ailment apparently worsened and ultimately required a more extended absence than just a day-to-day injury. The Twins optioned infielder Travis Blankenhorn and returned catcher Tomas Telis to the alternate site while calling up outfielder Alex Kirilloff and shortstop Nick Gordon. Kirilloff's ability to play the outfield and first base will be helpful with Sano, Max Kepler, and Kyle Garlick sidelined.--Tim Capurso
