After two missed cuts to start the season, Michael Thorbjornsen finished T74 in Phoenix two weeks ago. The 23-year-old does have some upside this week given his 312.4 driving distance (ranked 21st on Tour) and his proximity with longer irons; however, many negatives make this immensely talented player hard to trust until things improve. Putting has been downright scary at times, and his strokes gained around the green average (-1.134) is the worst on the PGA Tour. Both things luckily take a bit of a backseat at Vidanta Vallarta, so if there was ever a place to take a chance and see what happens, this could be the place to take the risk.--Todd McGill
