Michael McDowell qualified for the playoffs behind the season-opening win at Daytona. What is crazier is that McDowell has not led ten or more laps once in 2021. Also, he never factored into the spring race at Darlington dropping from 13th to 27th (finished five laps down). McDowell has also never finished in the top-15 on the 1.366-mile course. He seems to have difficulty with the banking and speed of the high-banked turns. The Front Row Motorsports Racing driver has finished seven of the last eight races on the track at least.
