Max Scherzer to Throw Live Batting Practice on Friday
Max Scherzer (thumb) is slated to throw a live batting practice session on Friday. The right-hander is expected to throw around 20-25 pitches during that session. The hope is that Scherzer can begin a rehab assignment soon after a few more batting practice sessions. Scherzer has been sidelined since March 30 due to right thumb inflammation. The team hasn't given a solid timetable for his return, but the hope is that Scherzer can return around late June.
