Max Scherzer To Start On Wednesday
1 year agoTexas Rangers right-hander Max Scherzer (forearm) is lined up to start on Wednesday this week against the division-rival Houston Astros. Scherzer admitted after his last start that he was dealing with some right-forearm tightness, but it's nothing concerning right now and he's taking steps to prevent it from turning into something worse. Despite not feeling 100 percent on Friday against the Minnesota Twins, he still tossed six shutout innings and gave up just one hit while walking two and striking out seven. The 39-year-old has looked like his Cy Young self since coming to Texas in a trade from the New York Mets, allowing just nine earned runs while walking 12 and striking out 47 in 36 2/3 innings over six starts.
