Max Fried Faces Live Hitters For First Time
1 year agoAtlanta Braves left-hander Max Fried (forearm) faced live hitters on Friday for the first time since resuming throwing. It was a big step in the rehab process, and manager Brian Snitker said it went well. There's still no timetable for Fried to begin a minor-league rehab assignment, but a return to Atlanta's starting rotation isn't expected to be too long after the All-Star break in mid-July. The 29-year-old southpaw has been on the injured list since early May due to a left-forearm strain, but Fried is making some good progress as we head into July. As soon as he starts a rehab assignment, he won't be far away. The fantasy ace must remain stashed in all leagues. In five starts before going on the shelf, he went 2-1 with a stellar 2.08 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 26 innings pitched.
