Matthew Stafford Has Tough Matchup On Sunday
6 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was flat out bad on Thanksgiving, throwing for just 236 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions against the Bears. This week he gets to face one of the fiercest pass-rush defenses in the NFL, the LA Rams. While the Lions will be at home again, Stafford will be without Marvin Jones (knee), who was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this week. That leaves his targets to be Kenny Golladay, Bruce Ellington, TJ Jones, and Theo Riddick, with the occasional last-ditch throw to a tight end. The only positive for Stafford is that the 10-1 Rams will likely get ahead early and stay ahead, meaning he will be throwing a lot. While this is the same defense that allowed 51 points in their last game against the Chiefs, the Lions are not even close to the Chiefs. Stafford is nothing but a QB2 in Week 13.
