1 year agoToronto Maple Leafs goaltender Matthew Murray will be unavailable for 6-8 months after recently having successful bilateral hip surgery. Murray's status for the season was already in doubt after general manager Brad Treliving announced at the start of training camp that the two-time Stanley Cup champion would need "significant surgery" to get back healthy. Now we know the specifics of his injury and the timetable for his recovery. It's another bad blow for the veteran netminder, who's had all kinds of health issues in recent years.
