Matt Olson Knocks 11th Homer
6 years agoOakland Athletics first baseman Matt Olson hit 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored in Wednesday's 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. The blast was Olson's 11th of the season, but he also struck out twice and left three runners stranded on base. For the season, Olson is hitting .234/.333/.539 with 11 home runs, 21 RBI, and 20 runs scored in just 128 at-bats. He has hit three bombs in his last four games and his advanced hitting metrics are superb, specifically his .293 ISO and 51.8% Hard Hit Rate. However, his low batting average and high strikeout rate (28.2%) are clear downsides to his fantasy profile and those numbers don't figure to improve significantly. Roster Olson for his counting stats, as he definitely looks to have found his power stroke and will continue to serve as the A's primary first baseman hitting in the three-spot.
