Masataka Yoshida To Return Saturday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said that outfielder Masataka Yoshida (hamstring) will return to the lineup on Saturday against left-hander Tyler Anderson and the Los Angeles Angels. The 29-year-old Japanese left-handed hitter is out of the starting lineup on Friday for the third straight game due to right hamstring tightness, but it's not an injury that is serious enough to put him on the injured list. We never expected Yoshida to wow with his power from the left side in his first big-league season, but he should continue to be a great source of on-base percentage. Through his first 10 contests in Beantown, he's hitting .216 (8-for-37) with a double, home run, six RBI, two stolen bases, eight runs scored and seven walks to only three strikeouts.
