Marvin Jones Jr. Fails To Post WR2 Numbers In Week 16
4 years agoDetroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones Jr. caught only three passes for 19 yards in the Lions embarrassing 47-7 loss to the Buccaneers in Week 16. The veteran Jones came into the contest on a mild hot streak, posting 474 receiving yards and three touchdowns over his previous six games. But this game got out of hand quickly and the Lions offense was submarined by quarterback Matthew Stafford suffering another injury. Backup Chase Daniel came in and unfortunately was ineffective as the Lions scored their only points of the game on a kickoff return. Jones Jr. is perhaps the teams most capable wide receiver (with Kenny Golladay stuck on the injury shelf) but will be difficult to trust in the final week of the season, especially if Stafford is not under center.
