Martin Truex Jr. will start 16th in Sunday's YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway. Since securing the 2023 regular season title at Daytona, the 43-year-old's performance has been surprisingly lackluster. In the four playoff races, he has an average finish of just 22.5, which is ten spots worse than his overall average finish this year. The Joe Gibbs driver figures to struggle this weekend at Talladega. Despite having 37 starts at this track, the former Cup champion has never won and has more DNFs (13) than top 10 finishes (9). This feels like a race that the No. 19 team will look to be competitive in without trying to be too aggressive. The goal is to be on the right side of the cutline for next week.--Adam Erhardt - RotoBallerRead More News
