Mark Williams Undergoes Successful Surgery
2 years agoCharlotte Hornets center Mark Williams (thumb) underwent successful surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb on Wednesday. The rookie big man moved into the rotation during the second half of the season. He took over as the starting center after Mason Plumlee was moved at the trade deadline. In the 18 games he appeared in after the trade deadline, Williams averaged 11.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks per game. He shot nearly 63% from the field during that stretch. Williams has the potential to be a legitimate fantasy asset heading into next season. Although, it depends on what the Hornets do in free agency, but Williams value is trending in the right direction.
