Mark Stone Officially Done for the Season
7 years agoOttawa Senators right wing Mark Stone has been ruled out for the final two games of the season, according to head coach Guy Boucher. Stone last played on March 9 and has been practicing with the team this week, but he will not make his return until next season. Stone was on pace for a career year after posting 62 points in 58 games and reaching 20 goals for the fourth straight season, but he will now fall two points short of his career-best 64 points. Stone finished this season averaging over a point per game for the first time in his career and managed to do so with a shooting percentage (15.2 percent) that falls in line with his career average (15.5 percent), which suggests his increased production could be sustainable. He will hold solid fantasy value next year as a perennial 20-goal scorer who should net at least 60 points with the potential for more.
