Mariners Showing Interest In Brandon Nimmo
2 years agoThe Seattle Mariners have expressed formal interest in free-agent outfielder Brandon Nimmo, according to sources. The Mariners are looking for a left-handed bat and improved on-base percentage, and Nimmo would bring both of those things to Seattle. Nimmo is a native of Wyoming and has posted a strong .385 on-base percentage in his seven MLB seasons with the New York Mets. In a career-high 151 games in 2022, he hit .274/.367/.433 with an .800 OPS, 16 home runs, a league-leading seven triples, 64 RBI, 102 runs scored and three stolen bases in 673 plate appearances. Nimmo was already a very attractive fantasy commodity for his OBP, contact skills and runs while in New York, but he'd be just as attractive with a move to the up-and-coming M's.
