Marcus Stroman Plays Long Toss
1 year agoChicago Cubs right-hander Marcus Stroman (hip, ribs) did some long toss on Wednesday after being cleared for light activities earlier this week. It's the first time that he's done any throwing since he was diagnosed with a right rib-cage cartilage fracture two weeks ago. It's nice to see the 32-year-old veteran making some progress, but with limited time left before the end of the 2023 regular season, Stroman is running out of time to make a significant impact for his fantasy managers. At this point, the Cubs might just be hoping that he can return for the postseason if the Cubs qualify. Stroman has gone 10-8 this year with a 3.85 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 111 strikeouts in 128 2/3 innings over 23 starts, but he allowed 18 runs (17 earned) in just 10 innings over his last three starts before going on the injured list.
