Manny Machado Getting A Breather In Game 2
3 years agoSan Diego Padres third baseman Manny Machado is not in the starting lineup for Game 2 of the doubleheader on Wednesday against the Atlanta Braves. Machado went 1-for-3 with a walk in the win in Game 1. The All-Star third baseman came into Wednesday's action with an excellent .276/.358/.492 slash line, .851 OPS, 16 home runs, 58 runs scored, 65 RBI and nine stolen bases in 319 at-bats. The 29-year-old is a must-start when he's in the lineup in all leagues. Ha-Seong Kim will take over at third and hit seventh on Wednesday against Braves right-hander Bryse Wilson. Kim has some modest power and speed, but he has only five homers, is hitting .209 (40-for-191) and hasn't gone deep since June 22. There's not a ton of upside with him in the seventh spot in single-year and daily formats in Game 2.
