3 years agoArizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher Madison Bumgarner (shoulder) will come off the injured list to start on Friday against the Chicago Cubs to begin the second half of the season. Bumgarner landed on the injured list early in June with left shoulder discomfort, and he wasn't exactly lighting the world on fire for his fantasy owners before the injury. MadBum will return to a bloated 5.73 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 62/18 K/BB in 59 2/3 innings spanning 12 starts in 2021. The 31-year-old left-hander's 24 percent strikeout rate and seven percent walk rate aren't bad at all, but he just hasn't been very reliable in his two seasons with the D-Backs, especially with the team in last place in 2021.
