Mac Meissner Looking To Regain Form At The Mexican Open
4 weeks agoMac Meissner started the year with a T21 at the Sony Open but has since posted results of T68, T52, and most recently a missed cut at the WM Phoenix Open. He now looks ahead to the Mexican Open in hopes of finding his form, having missed the cut at the event in 2024. At 7,456 yards, Vidanta Vallarta is a course that demands length off the tee and strong long-iron play. Meissner is long enough off the tee, averaging 307.4 yards per drive, ranking 56th on tour. He also ranks 29th on tour in strokes gained on approach (5.455), but this comes almost exclusively from inside 200 yards, as he ranks 150th on tour in proximity from 200-plus yards. This is significant, as 43.3% of all approach shots at this course came from over 200 yards last year. Meissner will need to improve his performance on long approach shots to justify his $7,900 price tag on DraftKings for fantasy managers.
