Lions Activate Jamaal Williams From COVID List
3 years agoThe Detroit Lions activated running back Jamaal Williams and cornerback Mark Gilbert from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. Williams missed the last two games while on the COVID-19 list, but he will be available for the team's Week 16 contest against the Atlanta Falcons this Sunday. As the starting RB with D'Andre Swift (shoulder) injured since Thanksgiving Day, Williams was serving as at least a low-end RB2 for fantasy managers. However, Swift could make his return in Week 16, and Craig Reynolds has come out of nowhere to lead Detroit's backfield the last two weeks with Swift and Williams sidelined. With a 100-yard effort in the shocking Week 15 win over the Arizona Cardinals, Reynolds has been signed to the active roster and has earned a bigger role moving forward. If Swift is out again this weekend, it remains to be seen how the Lions will split touches between Reynolds and Williams.
