Leodalis De Vries Homers, Gets on Base Four Times on Tuesday
Leodalis De Vries went 2-for-3 on Tuesday for High-A Fort Wayne, including a home run, three RBI, and two runs scored. The 18-year-old also walked once and was hit by a pitch. The Padres' top-ranked prospect is hitting .261 with five home runs and six stolen bases for the TinCaps this season, and is walking at an above-average rate of 12.4 percent, which is helping him to a .354 OBP. The switch-hitting Dominican leapfrogged up 11 spots on MLB.com's May refresh of their prospect list to third overall, but could be No. 1 by the end of the season with the expected eventual graduation of Roman Anthony and Bubba Chandler.
