Kyle Rudolph 2018 Outlook: The Best Value At TE For 2018
6 years agoThe Vikings will be a ton of fun to watch in 2018 and right in the middle of that fun will be Kyle Rudolph. It may be easy to forget, but Rudolph finished as the TE2 in PPR leagues just two seasons ago. We get lost in the big play ability of Rob Gronkowski, Zack Ertz and Travis Kelce, but Rudolph is ready to place himself in those same conversations for next season. The Kirk Cousins to Jordan Reed connection worked well in Washington, when Reed was healthy, so it’s time to prepare for that same chemistry with Rudolph.
The new offensive coordinator in town is John DeFilippo who has a strong track record work with tight ends. While he was the quarterbacks coach for the Eagles last season, Ertz had a career year and was the TE3. When DeFilippo was the offensive coordinator for the Browns in 2015, Gary Barnidge led the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns. DeFilippo is going to get Rudolph involved in all facets of the game plan, not just the red zone. He could easily finish as the TE4 this season and if one of the big three falter, he could go higher than that.
