Anton Khudobin Earns Win, Gives Up Five Goals To Detroit
7 years agoBoston Bruins goaltender Anton Khudobin earned the overtime win against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night at the TD Garden. The 31-year-old allowed five goals on 35 shots in the 6-5 match, including six saves on seven shots when the Bruins were a man down. Tuesday night’s game marked Khudobin’s second straight start while the Bruins top goaltender, Tuukka Rask, recovers from a minor injury. The Bruins defensive corp is also dealing with its own injuries, most recently with Charlie McAvoy going down with a knee injury. Hopefully, the Bruins blue line can provide more support, especially if Khudobin continues to get more starts than he’s used to. The Bruins return to action Thursday night against the Philadelphia Flyers, and the starting goalie will likely be announced at the morning skate that day. Khudobin climbs to a 15-4-4 record with the win, maintaining a 2.45 goals-against average and .918 save percentage this season.
