5/24:We all knew regression for Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Kevin Pillar was coming, and over the last week it’s safe to say the day of reckoning has arrived. In an 8-1 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday, Pillar finished 0-for-2 with a walk. The effort marks the sixth straight game Pillar has gone without a hit, giving him an 0-for-17 line over that span. This had finally looked to be the season that Pillar was going to sustain some sort of steady production even when his insane start slowed down, but as of now it’s simply looking like yet another early-season hot streak for the 29-year-old. There’s no doubting he’ll get back into a groove at some point, but he’s been subject to prolonged cold spells in the past.--John Smith
