Ke'Bryan Hayes Getting A Day Off
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Ke'Bryan Hayes is sitting out on Wednesday as the team takes on the Kansas City Royals. Vinny Capra will get the start at the hot corner and will hit sixth for the Bucs against Royals left-hander Angel Zerpa. Hayes' overall numbers don't look very impressive in his fourth big-league season, but he has really picked things up offensive since returning from the injured list on Aug. 2, going 31-for-106 (.320) with six home runs, six doubles, a triple, 20 RBI and 13 runs scored in 24 games (23 starts). Fantasy managers can only hope the 26-year-old will stay half as hot with the stick the rest of the way. Capra will be playing in only his 15th major-league game on Wednesday. In six games for Pittsburgh this year, he's gone 2-for-12 with two runs scored.
