Justin Turner Tests Positive For COVID-19, Pulled Mid-Game
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner tested positive for COVID-19 on Tuesday and was pulled from the World Series-clinching Game 6 win against the Rays in the eighth inning after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. Turner wasn't with his teammates as they celebrated the team's first World Series title since 1988. The veteran infielder was replaced in the field by Edwin Rios in the eighth inning. All Dodgers players will be given a rapid polymerase chain reaction COVID-19 test once they return to their hotels, according to sources. Turner is the franchise leader with 12 career playoff home runs, including two this year. He also hit .364 against the Rays in this year's World Series.
