Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Jurrangelo Cijntje struck out a career high 10 batters in his start for High-A Everett on Saturday. The Mariners' eighth-ranked prospect went 5 2/3 innings in the contest, allowing just four hits and a walk, but he allowed four earned runs as well, with most of the damage coming on a three-run home run on his final pitch of the outing. The switch-pitcher owns a 3.59 ERA as a starter (16 starts) with a 1.07 WHIP, .193 batting average against, and 80 strikeouts in 72 2/3 innings pitched. The 2024 first-rounder should test the upper levels of the minors next season and could be in the big leagues by 2027. With a fastball in the upper 90s, a strong strikeout rate, and the unique ability to throw with either arm, he could become a stash candidate for fantasy ahead of his eventual ascension to the big leagues.--Jarod RuppRead More News
