Josiah Gray To Make His Next Start Thursday
1 year agoWashington Nationals right-hander Josiah Gray will make his next start on Thursday on the road against the Pittsburgh Pirates after having his last turn in the starting rotation skipped. Thursday's start will be his first since Sept. 3. The 25-year-old has struggled since the beginning of August, allowing 22 earned runs on 24 hits (four home runs) while walking 21 and striking out 20 in 23 1/3 innings in six starts, so it was a good time for the Nats to skip him in the rotation. Hopefully the time off in the last week will do him well in a plus matchup against Pittsburgh. In 27 starts for the Nats this year, Gray has gone 7-11 with a 4.13 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 122 strikeouts in his 141 2/3 innings of work.
