Joshua Kelley Could Have Big Role In First Season
4 years agoLos Angeles Chargers rookie running back Joshua Kelley flashed his potential in training camp this year and could have a big role behind Austin Ekeler in his first year in the NFL. Head coach Anthony Lynn has been impressed with Kelley, especially his versatility as a pass-catcher. Even Ekeler thinks the UCLA product will be a factor this year in the running backs room. With Justin Jackson (toe) missing the tail end of training camp with an injury, Kelley might actually have a leg up on the No. 2 job heading into Week 1 against the Bengals. The Chargers are going to run a lot this year and will take some of the load off Ekeler, so the rookie back could easily have some standalone RB3/flex appeal in PPR leagues. The season opener should give fantasy managers more of an idea of how LA plans to use the 22-year-old, so he'll be more of a dart throw in season-long formats this weekend.
