Josh Jung Playing Versus Yankees
2 years agoTexas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung (hand) is back in the team's starting lineup on Friday to face right-hander Clarke Schmidt and the New York Yankees. Jung was hit by a pitch on his left hand and left the contest early on Wednesday against the Cincinnati Reds. He did not play on Thursday but will return for the weekend series against the Yanks. The 25-year-old is getting the start at the hot corner and will hit fifth in the Rangers lineup. An up-and-coming power threat in Texas, Jung should be returned to starting lineups now that he's back. In his first full MLB season, he's currently hitting .281 (25-for-89) with four doubles, five home runs, 16 RBI, a steal and 15 runs scored in his first 23 games.
