Josh Hader Blows First Save, Rewarded With Win
Milwaukee Brewers relief pitcher Josh Hader went two innings giving up one hit, two earned runs, and one walk while striking out four in the 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Hader came in for the eighth with a 3-1 lead and after walking Gregory Polanco, he allowed a two-run shot to Starling Marte that tied up the game. Despite the blown save, Hader was rewarded with the win as Ryan Braun ended up hitting a two-run double in the next inning. His elite strikeout ability was on full display once again as he now ups his K/9 ratio to 19.35 on the year. He now has a 1-0 record with a 1.80 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched and should be owned in all formats, even when Corey Knebel returns to closing duties.
